December 2015

Dear Early Childhood Colleagues:

Welcome to the 43rd Annual Conference on the Young Years (CYY), All In: Share the Vision ~ Create the Future. We are excited that you are able to join us at CYY as we recognize the important role you play in shaping Missouri’s future by working with young children and their families.

This year’s keynote speakers are experts in the field of early childhood, focusing on brain development, trauma and how it affects school readiness, science in the classroom, mathematical fluency, early signs of learning disabilities and exploring learning through literacy, art, and music. The keynote speakers are as follows: Lois Wachtel, The Squish-Squash Lady of Early Childhood; children’s author Mem Fox; Jill Molli, Conscious Discipline specialist; and Maurice Sykes, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Leadership Institute. In addition to the keynote speakers, we also welcome featured presentations from Isabel Baker, Marcia Goldman and her dog Lola, Dr. Peggy North-Jones, Ron Mohl, Dr. David Schramm, Stephen Fite, Dr. Brad Mears and the Saint Louis Zoo.

Thank you for joining us at CYY and being a part of this opportunity to design a professional development plan that meets your needs. Take the time to share the new ideas and information with colleagues, so that you can collectively create a vision that supports learning for young children and their families.

We are grateful to all of you for your incredible dedication to the field of early childhood. It is our desire that you will continue to be leaders in your programs, districts, and communities as Missouri moves towards its Top 10 by 20 Goal.

Have a great conference!

Sincerely,

margie-sig
